School of Cinema of Aristotle University of Thessaloniki was decided to be relocated at an abandoned Tobacco Warehouse. A complex programme needed to be organised including:

  • library and study hall
  • conference/projection hall
  • lecture and seminar classes
  • teaching stuff offices and meeting room
  • administration, secretary
  • workshops: film photography, wood, steel, electronics, paint
  • studios: scenography, costumes, production, script, music/sound, montage, cinematography
  • kitchen, refectory, cafeteria
  • W.C. assemblies
  • security booth

Building’s exterior was decided to be preserved in pure white, except the back of it which was about to be painted in dark grey. This handling highlighted the building’s volume, adding landmark’s performance. Openings were restored as series, and their frame was coloured in a fuchsia tone adding on the landmark effect.
